But, if there is any truth to Anthony's story, Gemma and her friends know they might soon have to face the mysterious Keepers. Myth or real threat, one thing is for certain; running is no longer an option, for any of them. Can Gemma protect the ones she loves without forming an unlikely alliance?

Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:

This is it. The finale of a really great series. I am so thankful that Kenechi sent this series to me. It has been a really great journey and I cannot wait to see how it all ends.

Writing Thoughts:

There is definitely a huge improvement in Kenny’s writing. I can exactly pin point what exactly but it is so much better. The flow of the words is better, the pacing of the chapters is better. Its really good. I loved that she decided to include Russ’s point of view it allowed not only for character development on his part but it definitely added some dimension to the story.

Plot Thoughts:

I loved how the beginning was going in this calm relaxing type of way and then did a total 180. Just action, action action.

Oh my gosh. This is seriously one of the best books of this year so far. The plot is so intricate and so much has happened in such a shot amount of time. I can honestly say that I love this to bits. This is what I have been waiting for the entire series. From action filled moment to heart wrenching ones, Kenechi Udogu definitely has a way of keeping one entertained and wanting more than what is given

Character Thoughts:

There was some really clear character development and good characterization in this book. ``Some characters that were one-dimensional now become a little bit more complicated, which I enjoyed. It showed a lot of skill.

Gemma has gone from this weak feeble kind of person who is stubborn has hell to this strong confident stubborn as hell person. This has been a development throughout the other books as well. I love what kind of person she had become. The confidence, the leadership are all things one should desire to aspire to. I really hope we can see more of Gemma in another book whether is is as herself or as another character.

Russ is still probably one of my favourite characters in this series. He is still super charming and sweet and I still swoon when he comes into the scene. Russ has gone from the cute side-line characters to this big semi-protagonist. He definitely got an epic promotion. I loved seeing more of him. It really made me a happy chappie.

Final Thoughts:

This book was so much better than the others. The others were like good and sorta my thing but this one, it was amazing. Kenny has definitely work hard to get to this point and I am super happy that she has found this point. I really hope that somewhere in the future we see more of the Mentalist world, through someone else’s eyes. This series is worth reading if you are interested in trying something new and different from the mainstream.

Yours in Reading,

Melleny
