Goodreads Synopsis:
For Gemma Green's first time, things should have been straight forward. Find your object, hold their gaze and push a thought into their head to save them from furture disaster- Aversion complete. A pretty simple process given that the subject was to have no recollection of the experience. But Russ Tanner doesnt seem to want to forget. In fact the more she tries to avoid him, the more he psuhes to get to know her. Gemma knows she had a problem but she is facing the side effect of a failed Aversion or has the school's tennis champ really fallen for her?

Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:

After reading the prequel novella to this book, I was pretty excited to see how Paul ties into this book. But when I read the synopsis to do some brain prep, I was surprised. There's a different person. Who is Gemma? What does she have to do with my Paul and Nora. Is Gemma a friend or a foe. I guess I will have to find out...

Writing Thoughts:

After reading Broken Ties , I was already accustomed to Kenny's writing which got me into the book really quickly. I love how simple her writing is. And in no way is that a bad thing. I have had no other complications besides interuptions. I just loved this.

Plot Thoughts:

The plot to this stroy is entirely unique and I must admit, I loved how it played out. This is probably one of my favourite story lines so far. Little Gemma has so much to discover and do. There was a lot of action in this book which definitely left me wondering what could happen next. There were a couple predicatable twist but that didn't stop me from having a little moment once they had happened.

I love the way this story ended and it makes me pretty exctied for the next one in the series.

Character Thoughts:

I loved Gemma. She was super funny when she scolded herself or questioned herself. Which is quite similar to Nora in Broken Ties. Gemma definitely had a brain on her. Whilst she was quite in touch with her emotional side, Gemma found logical solutions in several situations thanks to said emotions. I adored her as our protaginist and cannot wait to see more of her in the next book.

Russ was our romantic love interest in this book. He was a typical jock who was a champion at tennis. Yes, tennis. It is the British equivalent to American Football in my opinion. I swooned like a fangirl whenever he said sweet things and all of the quotes that I have highlighted in the book belong to him. He is super dreamy and absolutely perfect. He was supportive of Gemma and cares very deeply for her. And I am pretty sure there is humour in him somewhere.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I loved this book a lot more than Broken Ties. Mainly because the pieces I was missing fianlly came together. All though this book is pretty much fluffy love stuff, it does contain a lot of butt-kicking action. I highly recommend this book to people who are interested in reading a short paranormal read. This everything that you could want in the genre.

Yours in Reading,

Melleny
