Goodreads Synopsis:

When Wendy Everly first discovers the truth about herself - that she's a changeling switched at birth - she knows her life will never be the same. Now she's about to learn that there's more to the story...

She shares a closer connection to her Vittra rivals than she ever imagined- an they'll stop at nothing to lure her to their side. With the threat of war looming, her only hope of saving the Trylle is to master her magical powers - and marry an equally powerful royal. But that means walking away from Finn, her handsome bodyguard who's strictly off limits... and Loki, a Vittra prince with whom she shares a growing attraction.

Torn between her heart and her people, between love and duty, Wendy must decide her fate. If she makes the wrong choice, she could lose everything, and everybody, she's ever wanted... in both worlds.

Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:

I am super excited to reread this book. I loved reading this series the first time around and just can't wait to complete my second reread.

Writing Thoughts:

As always, Amanda Hocking has a way with words. The book went by quite quickly which can be credited to both the flow of the sentences and my love for the series. I love how Amanda sticks to the same kind of 'voice' that we find in the first book. What I mean by the same voice is that Wendy still sounds the same, she is still this stubborn sounding young teenage girl. She hasn't suddenly become this old person or a snobby person.

Plot Thoughts:

Oh my potatoes. The plot was music to my ears. It was an amazing follow up to the first novel in this series. There was way more action in this book and way more forbidden love (you can take what you want from that but it doesn't give anything away. I promise).

Character Thoughts:

I loved seeing more of Matt. He is this super caring person who just accepts everyone for who they are.

Tove is probably one of my favourite characters of all time. He is super adorable, I just want to pinch his cheeks and mother him to death. Guaranteed that he won't like that at all. He is that one mediator character that just sits in the middle to make sure that everyone remains calm. He definitely keeps the balance in all situations.

Loki will forever be my number one YA love. He is super amazing and despite how he may seem, I believe he is kind. His is my number one Ya love... wait have I said that already?

Final Thoughts:

This was a fantastic follow up. This is one book and series that I don't mind rereading a thousand times. I recommend that everyone should pick up this book and series. Amanda Hocking is officially one of my must read authors.

Yours in Reading,

Melleny
