Goodreads Synopsis:

He shattered me.

It's five years later and I've put the pieces of my life back together. I'm not a hacker anymore. I follow the rules now. Searching for my birth parents gives me purpose and keeps me distracted. Only, I can never forget what AJ Hart did.

I have no idea I'm being shadowed as I travel the country on the hunt for answers. My every move watched. My every step followed. Until AJ returns, looking as sinful as ever. Letting AJ back into my life isn't a part of my plans, but his charm is proving irresistible.

On our way back to D.C. it doesn’t take long for us to realize something is terribly wrong. AJ swears he’s here to protect me, but I don’t know if I can believe in him again. Even if he claims he works for the FBI. With my life crashing down around my feet, I don’t know if I can forget our past.

But our lives are at stake, and the clock is ticking.

Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:

I was doing an Instagram tour for this book and I decided that I had to also read it. It just made sense to me. I also think that it sounds interesting but I am curious to see what happens in 186 pages of this book.

Thank you so much to Inkslinger PR for providing me with a copy of this book. Just a small disclaimer for those reading this review. I have received this book for free. Please note that this does not affect my opinion in any way. All thoughts are my own.

Writing Thoughts:

The pacing of this book was really amazing. The book is already short but I just flew through this book so quickly. The writing overall isn't bad but it wasn't vivid. I didn't quite get a visual of the story.

Plot Thoughts:

I loved the plot. We kind of start in the middle of the story but it works for this book. We follow this character who is not necessarily lost but wants to find her roots. I really enjoyed how this book found a balance between the romance and the actual plot development. There was also a really good balance between the past and the present. It kept me interested and it made me kind of happy.

Character Thoughts:

I didn't get attached to this characters but they worked so well for this story. They made it really interesting. They had their quirks and their past added allowed the characters to appear more developed.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I really enjoyed this short romance books. It had some actions and the stakes kept everything interesting. The writing had a fantastic pace that just pushes you through the story. The plot was really well thought of. I wish the book was longer but everything worked out really well. The characters matched the story really well but I didn't get attached to them. Thank you so much to Inkslinger PR for providing me with a copy of this book! I can't wait to see what happens next.

Yours in Reading,
Melleny
