Goodreads Synopsis:

He saved me… And then he blood-bonded me. Now I’m his.

My first meeting with a Chicago vampire went better than expected.
Up until that night, all I knew about vampires was limited to a few common facts: they drink blood, they get a mean sunburn and if you find yourself alone with one, you’re dead.
Except he didn’t kill me.

Sexy, broody Warin clearly had his own reasons for sparing my life and tying me with his blood, but if he’d known how much trouble I’d attract, I bet he wouldn’t have bothered. When he blood-bonded me, secrets even I didn’t know about myself came to light.

Secrets that will pull us both deep into the eternal war between vampires and the witches determined to rid the world of their evil.

We have only one choice now: fight the forces hell-bent on breaking our bond…
Or die.

Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:

I have no idea what made me join this blog tour. It might have been something to do with the cover... I cannot wait to jump in and see what this book is about.

Thank you to Xpresso Book Tours for providing me with a copy for this book! I cannot wait to jump into this book. Just a small little disclaimer for those reading this review. I have received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. Please note that this does not affect my opinion in any way. All thoughts are my own.

Writing Thoughts:

I loved the writing in this book. It had a really good pace it and it sort of just drew you in. I flew through this long book. I loved the dialogue between the two main characters and honestly it was just great.

Plot Thoughts:

I was here for this book from the beginning until the end where Warin forced Liv to submit to him. Up until that point, I had really enjoyed this book. It was fun and quirky. There were even some heartfelt moments but that scene just left this off taste in my mouth. I was upset and I was really enjoying this book. I even loved the fact that the author didn't make the main characters fall in love with each other instantly.

Character Thoughts:

Liv was absolutely incredible. She was mouthy and funny. I definitely enjoyed her personality. She got a couple of laughs out of me. Warin was sweet and caring up until he disappointed me. His actions were so uncalled for and unnecessary. I also felt like it just went completely against his character.

Final Thoughts:

Overall,  I have mixed feelings on how to rate this book. I loved it so much. I was really getting into the swing of things and having a good time. But the rape scene just didn't work for me. I found that it was not only uncalled for but also against the characters that the author worked so hard to create. I found that it pushed this story back. Liv was a fantastic main character. She was funny and overall pleasure to read from. Furthermore, I will be continuing with the series if I get the chance. Thank you so much to Xpresso Book Tours for providing me with a copy go this book!
