Book Review:
Please be aware that this post has spoiler for the previous book. Do not read if you haven't read the previous book. Caution is advised.
Pre-reading Thoughts:

I am pretty excited for this book. I really want to see if Russ is still swoon worthy and wins Gemma over for once and for all. And if Gemma finds out how to control her powers. I've enjoyed the previous two books a lot and I just can't wait to see how things start to come together and what big changes happen. I'm ready to find the answers to my silent questions

Writing Thoughts:

Knowing how an author writes is super important to how quickly one reads and can even affect the overall rating of the novel. By getting to know Kenny's writing style, I feel a deeper connection to both her as an author and to the actual plot of the story. Having to read her books these past few days has really helped me progress through her books. And what I mean by that is that I am reading her books a lot faster than before. In no way do I mean her writing is terrible but with that being said, Kenny doesn't stand out in this field.

Plot Thoughts:

However Kenny does stand out in this field. Her concept and plot are completely original. It is also clear that she follows a set structure in all of her books which I believe benefits her the most. I loved how this story unfolded. It might have been a bit slow in the beginning but it worked with the story.

This story has a mixture of love, adventure and discovery. I swooned every time Russ was in the picture because he is the real romantic. Adventure seems to follow Gemma everywhere she goes, whether it is good or bad. And there is much to discover in terms of Gemma's power which propels the story onward.

Character Thoughts:

Gemma is still the same however, she does seem to be more anxious than before which is understandable. She is also withdraws within herself often. She is also less trusting of people which can sometimes be a bit much. But I still really liked her as a character.

Russ makes some appearances here and there but when he does show, its a quick fleeting moments. He still this caring and sweet guy who really just wants the best for Gemma. Russ is one of those guys how has the purist of intentions. He has only one thing to prove in this book and that is that his affection for Gemma is real and not something caused by the link they have.

Laura was a really cool addition to the crew. She was a relaxed person that was the perfect contrast to Gemma's character. Laura balanced out the Russ and Gemma. Laura was probably one of my favorite characters in this series

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I thought this book was really good. I enjoyed how the story progressed and how it set up for the finale in the series. This is the perfect book for people who want something other than the norm. This is series is probably one of my favorite ones. If I had these in physical form who can be sure to find them on my favourite shelf or somewhere really close to it.

Yours in Reading,

Melleny
