Book Review:

Shaka Rising is an immersive graphic novel that teaches you about one of South Africa’s most prominent historical figures. With illustrations that pull the reader into the world of the Zulu kingdom, the reader is able to learn about history in an easy and entertaining way. The graphic novel contains a foreword which explains the purpose of the novel and after the actual story, there is more information such as a timeline and insight into people mentioned in the novel which adds educational value. I thoroughly enjoyed this graphic novel and would highly recommend it for everyone and anyone. Thank you so much to Lapa Uitgewers/Publishing for providing me with a copy of this book!

Shaka Rising is ‘n grafiese roman wat die leser meesleur in die lewe van een van Suid-Afrika se mees bekende histories figure. Die gedetailleerde illustrasies beeld die geskiedenis van die Zulu koninkryk in ‘n eenvoudige, dog opwindende wyse uit.   Die voorwoord van die boek verduidelik die doel daarvan en in die slotsom word meer inligting in die vorm van ‘n tydlyn asook meer detail oor persone wat in die boek genoem word deurgegee. Dit voeg goeie opvoedigkundige waarde tot hierdie boek. Ek het Shaka Rising baie geniet en beveel dit aan vir enige leser.  Baie dankie Lapa Uitgewers dat julle hierdie boek aan my beskikbaar gestel het.
