Goodreads Synopsis:

After the traumatic events at the dreaded prison Red Bay, Ronja is handing by a thread. Whispers trail her through the Belly, carrying rumors of her borderline supernatural voice. Plagued by nightmares and haunted by the memories of those she could not save, she clings to the promise that her gift will soon become the weapon of the Anthem.

When doubt and arrogance cloud the eyes of their once trusted commander, Ronja and her friends are forced to take matters into their own hands. Armed with little more than an idea, they strike out on their own to silence The Music and The Conductor once and for all. But time is running out, and a new threat is stirring within the walls of the city.

Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:

OHMYGOSHIAMSOEXCITEDFORTHISBOOK!!!! I have been waiting an entire year to get this book and read and smother it like I have been doing to VINYL. I am so ready! I have no words for how ready I am! Thank you so much to Sophia for sending me this book! You literally made my year!

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. Please note that in no way has receiving this book affected my opinions. All thoughts are my own.

Writing Thoughts:

Sophia's writing is more refined in this book but even more impactful than the first book. It was so easy to get sucked into the writing. It was as if I was part of the world and part of the rebellion. Sophia was born to write and every time I read her books, this point is just reiterated.

Plot Thoughts:

This book was everything I wanted and more. We got a bit of everything. Action, romance and some heart-stopping moments. This book isn't just something that you read, it is an experience. I loved this one more than I loved VINYL, if that is even possible. Sophia both satisfied my thirst for a brilliant story and kept me wanting more.

Character Thoughts:

These characters constantly steal my heart and keep it captive. Ronja, the one who is the strongest and the symbol of a rebellion. Roark, a gentle yet steady rock for Ronja. Evie and Iris, the most loyal friends you will ever meet. Terra, a force to be reckoned with. Samson, a small shining light in the darkness. All of these characters are unique and stand out on their own.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, another perfect book from Sophia. A book that captures you and keeps you reading until there isn't anything left. A book that is perfection in so many ways. This book has writing that draws you into the world of the rebellion, a plot that keeps you wanting more and a cast of characters that feel like family. Sophia never ceases to amaze me. I am so happy that I got to read this book. I am so happy that Sophia sent it my way. If you have not read this book or the first one, I highly recommend that you do so as soon as you can. Because it is worth it.

Yours in Reading,

Melleny
