Lokal is Lekker Introduction

I am so excited to announce that a new segment is coming to my blog! Lokal is Lekker is all about promoting books and authors that are South African. I think that a lot of the time local readers get enamoured by the books that come from overseas and they often forget that we have amazing books written and published in South Africa.

Due to this, I decided that once a week on a Tuesday, I will either spotlight a book or feature a fantastic South African author, whether they are published locally or internationally. I would also like to use this segment to promote books that make my shelves more diverse and inclusive especially with regards to South Africa Titles.

I plan on doing a ton of posts within Lokal is Lekker. These posts include reviews, excerpts and interviews with South African authors. Each post (with the exception of interviews) under Lokal is Lekker will be translated into Afrikaans and English (with hopes of including more languages in the future) to create an inclusive experience for all readers.

I hope that you will enjoy this journey with me and that together we can discover some amazing books and authors.

Ek is so bly dat ek vandag ‘n nuwe idee aan julle kan voorstel. Lokal is Lekker is hier om Suid-Afrikaanse boeke ‘n plek op sosiale media te gee. Ek dink dat Suid-Afrikaners verdwyn partykeer in die ophef wat rondom oorseese boeke gemaak word en dan vergeet ons van die fantastisie boeke wat deur Suid-Afrikaners geskryf is. 

Vir hierdie rede het ek besluit om een keer ‘n week op n Dinsdag ‘n boek resensie, ekserp of ‘n onderhoud met ‘n Suid-Afrikaanse skrywer te publiseer op my blog. Lokal is Lekker is begin sodat ek Afrikaanse boeke kan ondersteun en om sodoende ‘n meer diverse leeservaring te weerspieël. Elke publikasie sal in beide Afrikaans en Engels (en vorentoe in meer tale) geskryf word. 

Ek hoop dat julle Lokal is Lekker sal geniet en dat ons saam nuwe interessante boek sal lees!
