Goodreads Synopsis:
Seventeen-year-old Claire Collins has a plan: get into college and leave North Carolina behind. What she doesn’t have is an idea for how to get rid of the local football star and womanizer extraordinaire—Adam Meade, who she can’t even avoid (despite many efforts), because Claire’s dad is the high school football coach.
With the bite of lemon meringue pie and the sugar of sweet tea, Surviving Adam Meade is a sexy and compelling young adult novel about two strong-willed people who think they know what they want but have no idea what they need.
Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:
I am going into this book 100% blind. I don't have any expectations other than the fact that this book is definitely going to make me swoon.
Thank you so much to Xpresso Book Tours for providing me with a copy of this book. Just a small disclaimer for those reading this review. I have received this book for free. Please note that this does not affect my opinion in any way. All thoughts are my own.
Writing Thoughts:
I just slipped right into the writing. It was well paced and had just enough detail to let me get familiar with the characters and the surrounding but it wasn't so much that I couldn't let me own imagine run free. I loved the witty dialogue between the two main characters, it sparked both the tension between the characters and made me laugh out loud in some cases.
Plot Thoughts:
This plot was so swoon worthy. I literally couldn't stop myself from reading this book. It just sucked me in from the first page. I found myself wanting to read more and more and more. I loved how everything played out, even the sad moments. The plot is perfect for those who want a cute but memorable moment.
Character Thoughts:
I loved Claire. She was sassy and honestly she is one of my favourite characters. She is just a spit fire sometimes but she also has her low moments and I think that the author represented that well. I loved Adam but I hated him too. I didn't want some of his opinions but that just made him a realistic character
Final Thoughts:
Overall, I loved this book so much! I really enjoyed how light and easy it was to read. It was the perfect break from the high fantasy I was currently reading. I loved how the writing carried the emotions of the story. The plot pulled me in from the first page and was a fantastic journey. The characters were likeable and honest a real jewel. Thank you so much to Lola Blog Tours for providing me with a copy of this book.
