Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:

I am so excited to read this book. This was the first book tour that I signed up for in a while. I knew that I would be going on break during the tour time so I decided to give this one a shot! I'll be honest, I have no idea what this book is about. But somehow I think that will be a good thing.

Thank you so much to Xpresso Blog Tours for providing me with a copy of this book to review. Just a small disclaimer for those who are reading this review. I have received this book for free. Please note that this does not affect my opinion in any way. All thoughts are my own.

Writing Thoughts:

I liked the writing. It was easy to get into the flow of things but it definitely felt a bit young.  There was some detail but I felt like I wanted more when we were on Karran and dealing with new creatures. The dialogue was awkward but it was also really cute and my poor little heart. Please note that this book is written in multiple points of views but it is done quite well. There are markers to indicate the change and whose point of view it will be as well.
Plot Thoughts:

The plot was interesting. I really enjoyed the journey that we went on but I wish that the book was longer. I really enjoyed that we got to learn about Karran along with the characters. It allowed a natural progression to happen. I also think that by having multiple points of views, the author was able to really explore the world and provide different viewpoints. I really enjoyed how the plot was slow in terms of how the everything happened but it didn't feel like it took forever to get to the end.  I did not appreciate the end because I had grown attached to certain people.

Character Thoughts:

I liked all the characters but they felt a little flat. I think that as the series continues we will be able to see some character development happen. Blue was presented as this shy girl but then when we had the first day at the school, it felt odd that she just approached these people. I enjoyed this characters because they were fun and interesting. I am intrigued to see how the relationships develop in the next book!

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I really want the second book. I liked the writing and the dialogue was awkward but made for some really adorable moments. The plot was an absolute ball. I enjoyed how certain things played and were heartbroken by how other things happened. The characters were intriguing and unique but they need a little more development. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book.Thank you so much to Xpresso Book Tours for providing me with a copy of this book.

About the Author:

Cecilia Randell is the pseudonym for a lady author that has not quite worked up the courage to give you all her real name. She loves a good story, and often finds herself thinking “what if…”, so decided to put some of her ‘what ifs’ down in words for others to, hopefully, enjoy
