Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:

When I was sent the synopsis for the book, I just knew that I had to jump on this bandwagon as soon as I could. Not only did the book sound like it was going to be full of action and a little bit of humor, but it also sounded like it was going to be one hell of an interesting ride. One that I simply could not miss. Thank you to Not a Pipe Publishing for sending me this book to review. I cannot wait to jump into the world of Connor! Please note that in no way has receiving this book affected my opinions. All thoughts are my own.

Writing Thoughts:

This book was filled with dialogue and crazy inner monologue moments that happened to be said aloud sometimes. I enjoyed how this book was written. It didn't feel as though an adult was writing this book. Instead the book felt authentic. It felt as if Connor has written this book himself. This book is sort of told in mixed media. There are definitely some text messages and group chat messages in this book, which I thoroughly enjoyed!

Plot Thoughts:

The plot of this book had a steady pace that increased as Connor is pulled further into the world of the supernatural. This book was filled with action. I was never bored and I couldn't put it down. I adored the adorable moments where Connor stutters his way through a conversation with the girl that he likes and I adored how shy he was.

Character Thoughts:

Connor's relationship with his mom is one that will pull at your heartstrings and will have you try to do everything you can to help your mother. Connor has become one of my favourite protagonists. The way he handles a situation is incredible. Connor is one of those people who will learn how to play the game and will then play their part to the best of their ability. He is also incredibly humble. It was quite refreshing to read.

DO NOT READ THE NEXT PIECE AT IT IS SORT OF A SPOILER AND IF YOU WANT TO WAIT FOR THE BOOK THEN DO NOT READ FURTHER, JUST SKIP TO THE FINAL THOUGHTS LIKE RIGHT NOW...

NOW...

NOW...

MINOR SPOILER (sort of but not really cause it happens quite soon into the book)

There was one relationship in this book that I didn't like and that was Susan and Connor's relationship. There was definitely an authentic feel to their relationship but at the same time fake because it is so hard to believe that relationships these days can be so fickle but unfortunately it is so true. I definitely felt as though Susan was pushing the boundaries by being hot and cold at the same time. It got to me sometimes but I felt as though that is what young girls are taught to act if they want to keep a guys attention for more than two seconds. You have to show interest but don't show too much because otherwise he might think of you are obsessed mentality really gets to me sometimes.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, this book was so good! I loved every single minute of it! I cannot wait for everyone to read this book! I loved it! I cannot wait to hold it in my hands! Connor is so cute and squishy and such a marshmallow. You have to read this book! Trust me?

Thank you to Not a Pipe Publishing for sending me a copy of this book to review! I adored it!

Yours in Reading,

Melleny
