Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:

I requested this book on Netgalley mainly because of the cover but honestly, I am so excited to jump into this one. I have been getting a feel contemporaries lately, so I am sure that I will love this one.

Thank you so much to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book. Just a small disclaimer for those reading this review. I have received this book in exchange for an honest review. Please note that this does not affect my opinion in any way. All thoughts are my own.

Writing Thoughts:

I really liked the writing in this book. It might not have been detailed or perfect but I loved how it still pulled me into the story. I loved the dialogue that followed naturally and was so entertaining. It definitely kept me going.

Plot Thoughts:

I love books based on scandals because they make the most entertaining stories I have ever read. I really liked how this book started. I loved the romance and honestly, I loved the friendship that Marisa and Charlie had. The book was highly entertaining and very addictive. We start with Marisa finding out her best friend's boyfriend is cheating on her and then everything kind of unfolds from there. I love how natural Marisa and TJ's relationship is. They both have a strong interest in the same things. The book was definitely better for it.

Character Thoughts:

Some of the characters were flat but the majority of the main characters were fleshed out quite well and seemed to be substantiated. I really liked Marisa. She wasn't perfect in any way but she had character. She was likeable, not because the author told us, but rather because the author showed us.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I really enjoyed this story. It took some unpredictable turns but it was very addictive. I liked the dialogue that stood out the most for me. The plot had a great start and just kept a steady pace from there. The characters were amazing. I liked how the author proved their characteristics instead of just telling us. Thank you so much to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Fire for providing me with a copy of this book!

Yours in Reading,

Melleny
