Goodreads Synopsis:

A goth-rock show. An innocent train ride. That’s all it takes for high school sophomore Syl Skye’s perfectly normal world to come crashing down. Why? Because this train holds the infamous Rouen Rivoche, a dark Fae assassin bent on murdering Syl. This is one journey that should end in tragedy, not two people falling love. Then again, whenever the Fae are involved, there’s no telling what will happen…

Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:

I have been meaning to read this series since I originally saw the publisher announce the books. It has definitely taking me a while to pick this prequel up and honestly I have Xpresso blog Tours to thank for that. They always have tours books that I need to review and it is the perfect opportunity for me to finally pick up the series. I am really intrigued to see where this story goes, it sounds like it is going to be an amazing story. The feedback it has gotten has been glowing but as always we will see!

Thank you so much to Monster House Books and Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book. Just a small disclaimer for this reading this review. I have received this book for free. Please note that this does not affect my opinion in any way. All thoughts are my own.

Please note that this review will only have a Final Thoughts section as this is a prequel.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I really liked this book. It started off really well and we got a really great feel for the characters. The plot was really good as well. We were introduced to three main problems which was really great because one of them was a social issue, one was a surface issue and the other is what will probably be the main plot driver. I definitely think that this book sets up the series quite well. I cannot wait to start the first book as soon as possible. The writing in this books was also really good, a lot of description was in relation to characters but I did find that I wanted more detail with the music element that was present in the book. Thank you so much to Monster House Books for providing me with a copy of this book.

Yours in Reading,

Melleny
