Land-hungry Europeans arrive and ingratiate themselves with Shaka, even while plotting their own path to power. And closer to home, Shaka’s own brothers conspire in secret.
Book Review:
Following the events of Shaka Rising (you can find my review here), King Shaka continues the story of Shaka as he faces new challenges and foes who stand against the world he wishes to create. This series continues to be immersive and informative. I love how accessible these retellings of history are as the graphic novel is easy to follow. The artist continues to do an amazing job with the illustrations in this series. I think that his style works well with the story being told. I've really enjoyed learning more about Shaka as there were some things that I didn't know before. I think this graphic novel series provides a rich context for the historical heroes that we are familiar with today and I am looking forward to seeing who will be featured next.
Boek Resensie: (translation by Hantie Ferreira)
Yours in Reading,
Melleny
