Goodreads Synopsis:

Guardian trainee Violet Fairdale is just weeks away from one of the most important occasions of her life: graduation. After messing up big time by bringing a human into the faerie realm, Vi needs to step up her game and forget about Nate if she hopes to graduate as the top guardian of her year. Everything would be find if she wasn't forced to partner with Ryn, her ex-friend, ex-enemy, current 'sort of friend'. They might be trying to patch up their relationship, but does she really want to spend a week undercover with him for their final assignment? On top of that, the possibly insane Unseelie Prince is still on the loos, free to 'collect' as many specially talented faeries as he can find -- and Vi is still at the top of his list. Add in faerie queens, enchanted stops, complicated not-just-friends feelings, and a murder within the Guild itself, graduation is about to become the least of Vi's problems.

Book Review:

If you would like to see my review for the first book, you can find it here.

Pre-reading Thoughts:

I really, really enjoyed reading the first book. It was fun and definitely a wild ride. I cannot wait to see what this book has inshore for me. I cannot wait! I have expectations that this book will meet without a doubt.

Thank you so much to the author, Rachel Morgan, for sending me a copy of her book! Just a small disclaimer for those reading this review. I have received this book in exchange for an honest review. Please note that this does not affect my opinion in any way. All thoughts are my own.

Writing Thoughts:

The writing in this book was so good! I was so happy that everything pretty much stayed to same. Violet's voice was a constant present but we were also able to see the author's own unique voice.

Plot Thoughts:

I was blown away by this book. It was exciting to see how everything unfolded and at the end of it I was completely speechless. There is a much bigger focus on the growing romance but I am also happy that the author didn't fall into the trope of having a love-triangle. Instead she rose above it.

This book was unpredictable. I didn't know what was going to happen and when something did happen it blew me out of the water!

Character Thoughts:

My heart has become attached to the characters in this book. I refuse to let anything happen to them.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I think it is safe to say that this book has surprised me. It went beyond what I expected and my only regret was that I didn't start this series sooner. The writing while it remained the same, it still continued to draw me into the story. The plot was... honestly there are a thousands words that I can think of but none of them seem right. The characters now have a special place in my heart. This book was incredible. It is literally one of my favourite books of the year.

Yours in Reading,

Melleny
