Goodreads Synopsis:

Miss Lydia Whitfield, heiress to the family fortune, has her future entirely planned out. She will run the family estate until she marries the man of her late father's choosing, and then she will spend the rest of her days as a devoted wife. Confident in those arrangements, Lydia has tasked her young law clear, Mr. Robert Newton, to begin drawing up the marriage contracts. Everything is going to plan.

Until Lydia - and Robert along with her - is kidnapped. Someone is after her fortune and won't hesitate to destroy her reputation to get it. With Robert's help, Lydia strives to keep her family's good name intact and expose whoever is behind the devious plot. But as their investigation delves deeper and their affections for each other grow, Lydia starts to wonder whether her carefully planned future is in fact what she truly wants...

Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:

I cannot wait to get into this book. I have no idea what this book will be about mainly because I wanted to go into it as blind as possible. All I know is that it looks extremely interesting and I cannot wait to start it. Thank you to Xpresso Book Tours for providing me with a copy of both of the books. Please note that in no way has receiving this book affected my opinion. All thoughts are my own.

Writing Thoughts:

I found the story to be well written however the story slowed down quite a bit from the middle until the end. Those chapters from the middle to the end weren't really necessarily boring, it was more that I felt that they lacked action. I was really happy when things picked up towards the end though. This story is told from two point of views. I really enjoyed seeing insight into both characters lives and minds. It definitely made things more swoon worthy

Plot Thoughts:

This book started off fun. Our Lydia, our female protagonist, meets our other main character within a couple of pages. This book defiantly kept me on the edge of my seat and to stop me from spoiling anything. I won't say anything else here.

Character Thoughts:

Lydia is our female protagonist and wealthy land owner. She is headstrong and extremely intelligent. I quite enjoyed reading from her point of view as well as the other point of view. Robert is our second main character and it is clear to see that the moment he and Lydia meet, there is undeniable chemistry. He was absolutely swoon worthy. He constantly made up reasons to see Lydia. I loved that he kept scolding himself for how much he thought of Lydia. It was honestly too sweet

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I thought it was really good! Highly recommend this to anyone who is thinking about reading this book. Trust me, it is worthy it! Thank you so much to Xpresso Book Tours for providing me with a copy. I absolutely adored this.
